

A cold front dropping south through Wisconsin Monday afternoon triggered spotty showers and storms. Some of them produced hail, downpours, and gusty winds. Merrill for example picked up enough hail to accumulate an inch deep on the ground in spots along with 40 mph winds. Otherwise highs ranged from near 80 in the south to only the 60s in far northern parts of the area. It will quiet down Monday night with partly cloudy skies and patchy fog later.
