GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - The Grand Rapids City Commission has voted to promote Greg Sundstrom to city manager.
The 4-3 vote was taken Wednesday morning.
The Grand Rapids Press reports Sundstrom is the current acting deputy city manager and has spent his entire career with the city.
Other candidates included Grand Rapids Interim City Manager Eric DeLong; Topeka (Kan.) City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr.; and former Racine (Wis.) City Administrator Ben Hughes.
