STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- Another hunting season will soon be upon us and outdoor enthusiasts in Portage County are already gearing up.
The annual gun and archery show in Stevens Point drew quite the crowd this weekend. Over 70 vendors from across the state set up shop to sell guns and other equipment. Organizers say they tried to also gear the show towards children with games and prizes.
It's an effort to make sure area youth stay interested in the outdoors.
Event Coordinator Todd Spink said, "As the sporting industry losses importance with the generations that are coming up, they won't strive to preserve what we love."
The show brought in nearly a thousand people from across the Midwest.
