RHINELANDER, Wis. (AP) -- An Oneida County mother whose baby died of a morphine overdose will stand trial after attempts to reach a plea deal fell through.
Twenty-one-year-old Amanda Bodoh is charged with child neglect resulting in death after her 10-month-old daughter was found with large amounts of morphine in her system.
Prosecutors say Bodoh neglected her child by allowing people she knew were abusing drugs, to care for the girl.
Peyton Marie Lonkoski was found dead May 4, a day after her family moved from Iron River, Mich. to an apartment in the town of Pelican.
Bodoh's trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 19, 2010.
