WAKE UP WISCONSIN (WAOW)-- I thought I would update you on my 20 year old cousin, Bill, who's currently waiting for a lifesaving heart and kidney transplant.
Today is 6 weeks he's been in the ICU at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Even though he's at the top of the list in Illinois, he still hasn't received his organs.
This just goes to show the importance of being an donor. Organs are hard to come by, and they're not at our disposal.
Bill's staying positive and his attitude is truly an inspiration to not only the medical staff, but everyone who knows him.
Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers, I'll continue to keep you updated on his status.
I had a nice surprise when I came into work today, the 6th graders at Grant Elementary in Marshfield, who were our first Class of the Week this year, for raising money for a transplant patient support group, sent Bill and I beautiful cards.
I will be sure to pass them along to my family! Thanks for all the continued support, it's so comforting, during this difficult time.
