MERRILL (WAOW) -- Merrill High School Head Volleyball Coach Sally Pfund is in critical condition at St. Joe's hospital in Marshfield.
Pfund suffered a massive stroke while undergoing surgery for an aneurism.
Pfund has taught at Merrill High School since 1997 as a physical education teacher.
She also served as coach for girls' basketball and track, as well as senior class advisor.
Out of respect for Pfund, Thursday night's volleyball game was canceled.
The Merrill Area Public Schools Administration will hold a press conference Friday morning to update the community.
The conference will be held at the central office administration building at 9:00 a.m.
