WESTON (WAOW) -- The D.C. Everest girls volleyball team will head to the state tournament this week for the third straight year.
A win against Eau Claire North on Saturday won them a trip to Green Bay.
The girls say it's a big accomplishment considering at the beginning of the year, many people didn't even expect them to win conference.
Now they're just hoping their experience from the past two years helps them bring home a state title.
Head Coach Taryn Vaughn says, "I think it helps a lot. I think it helps with all the distractions. I think you'll see similar teams going to state a lot and I think a lot of that is because they're able to focus through a lot of the pressure so I do think it's helpful."
Senior Hannah Jasurda says, "I think getting the nerves out. We'll be able to do that a lot easier this year and with the experience we have we have a lot more motivation this year because we don't want to go in and lose the first game right away, we want to make a mark with D.C. Everest Volleyball."
Junior Anna Vanderloop says, "The nerves last year were more because I think this year and this year will be easier to shake them off than last year."
They play Middleton Thursday night in Green Bay.
Everest is one of four teams from our area. Wednesday we'll hear from the Newman Volleyball team.
