GREEN BAY (WAOW)- After back to back losses in which they gave up 38 points per game, the Green Bay defense answered the bell against the Cowboys.  They held a high-powered Dallas offense scoreless until the final 38 seconds.  The Pack was lead by veteran Charles Woodson, who recorded a team-high 9 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 sack, and 1 interception.

About one of those fumbles, Woodson said, "If you've ever played me, you know you've gotta protect that ball.  I knew I wasn't going to make the tackle so I just made the swipe to get the ball out and I was able to get it out."

Head coach Mike McCarthy was impressed with his stop troops as a whole.  "I can't say enough about our defense," said McCarthy.  "That's the vision that we're looking for, especially playing at home. We had some excellent performances across the board, especially against a very good Dallas football team...and a hot team."

After an upset loss to Tampa Bay, Cullen Jenkins commented on the difference a great week of practice made.  "I think the atmosphere this week with the players was great. There was no sense of panic," said Jenkins.  "We had a good confidence like we had early in the year, in the preseason.  We felt like there was confidence on all fronts."

"Guys just turned on the switch," added Nick Collins.  "We were ready to play.  Last week we weren't ready to play.  This week we went out there being aggressive from the jump start."

Rookie Clay Matthews, Jr. talked about the gameplan, saying, "What we were able to do out there was shut down first down, hold them to a minimal gain on 2nd down, and 3rd down we were able to get after them. 3 and out, that's how we like it. As you can see, it worked out there. We got some good pressure and some good hits on the quarterback. Everybody's happy. We gotta get a few more of these wins."

To which Woodson added, "The enthusiasm and the passion was there from the onset of the game, and it continued through the whole game. We've started out hot in some games and haven't finished it.  Today we finished it."

The Packers emerge from this win with a 5-4 record and 2 winnable games on the horizon. San Francisco comes to town next weekend, followed by a trip to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day.
