Police investigating Minocqua bow hunter's death

Posted:

MINOCQUA (WAOW)--Officers at the Minocqua Police Department are reporting the death of a 66 year old bow hunter.

Police Chief Andrew Gee sent out a press release saying the body of Ronald Hamrick was found Saturday, just before 9:00 PM.

Hamrick had been hunting on familiar private property in the town of Minocqua but when he didn’t come home, friends and family send out a small search party. They found him on the ground next to his tree stand.

Police say there is evidence that Hamrick killed, but had yet to recover, a buck before he died.

Hamrick’s death is still under investigation while officials perform an autopsy.
