Wisconsin Rapids uses technology to keep residents informed

Posted:

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW)--Several Wood County government agencies and schools are working together to keep community members informed.

They’re using a new program that posts alerts by email and test messages. They expect to use the system to alert residents about missing children, crime prevention alerts, health advisories, environmental concerns, disease outbreaks, mass clinics and school closures due to snow or cold.

Newsline 9’s Meg Bonacorsi traveled to Wood County and she’ll have the latest on this new technology. You can also follow Meg on twitter: www.twitter.com/megbonacorsi
