WAUSAU (WAOW)--After six months of hard work Moustafa Saleh and artist Patrick Plunkett see their vision become reality.
They, along with members of the community and even representatives from the Consul General of Egypt and the U.S. Department of State, unveiled a 10-foot peace sculpture at the Whitewater Park in Wausau on Friday afternoon.
Saleh is an Egyptian exchange student studying at Northcentral Technical College. He designed the sculpture, with Plunkett's help, after getting such a warm reception in Wisconsin.
Engraved in steel on the wings of the dove is the word peace written in both Arabic and in English.
Saleh hopes to put up another in Egypt when he returns home.
