WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Some consider the day a holiday; no, we're not talking about Thanksgiving.

November 27, 2009 marks Black Friday, the day economists believe is the busiest shopping day of the year.

The same is true right here in Central Wisconsin.

One viewer called from Stevens Point saying the Best Buy there was packed. She said that the line of shoppers waiting to get into the store wrapped around the building.

The doors opened at 5 am.

Newsline 9's Elizabeth Fay woke up early and headed over to Rib Mountain, where early-bird shoppers braved the sub-30 degree temperatures to wait in line for their chance to snag some huge deals.

During a live chat on Wake Up Wisconsin, Elizabeth says there are a lot of people waiting outside Best Buy in Rib Mountain, but that it's controlled chaos.

Tune in to Wake Up Wisconsin in the 6 o'clock hour to hear the latest stories Elizabeth has from the Black Friday circus and watch Live at 5 to see the full story.
