LINCOLN COUNTY (WAOW) -- A hunting incident in Lincoln County is being investigated.
Authorities say a Merrill man, 47, will be referred to the district attorney after firing a round at the direction of another hunting party.
According to a news release, the man felt that the other party's deer drive was disrupting his hunt.
After confronting the group, the man fired one shot from his rifle in their direction.
No one was injured.
This comes after the Shawano County Sheriff's Department report a similar incident in Bartleme Township.
It happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a call in the River Road area.
They say a deer drive was being conducted and one of the hunters mistook another member of the hunting party for a deer.
The hunter was struck in the upper right arm.
The wounded hunter was transported to Wausau Aspirus Hospital.
The incident is under investigation but deputies say it appears to be accidental.
