PINE CITY, Minn. (AP) - A husband and wife from Pine City have been killed in a head-on crash in western Minnesota near the Wisconsin border.
Minnesota State Patrol Capt. Matt Langer says a 44-year-old-man who had been drinking tried to pass a minivan on Highway 70 in Rock Creek in a no passing zone at about 5:45 p.m. Friday.
As he crested a hill he hit a car head-on, killing 50-year-old Michael Moris and his 48-year-old wife Robin Moris of Pine City.
Langer tells KARE-TV that the driver then hit the van he tried to pass, forcing it into the ditch.
Fifty-9-year-old Patricia Denn of Frederic, Wis., had minor injuries and her passenger, 25-year-old Matthew J. Denn of Duluth was not hurt.
The driver was listed in serious condition at a local hospital Saturday.
