STEVENS POINT (WAOW)--A UWSP Associate Professor is heading to the end of the earth.
Les Werner and a grad student will be joining 20 research scientists in Antarctica. It's a group composed of people from across the globe. Their purpose is to research issues like climate change and marine biology.
Werner says King George Island, Antarctica is the perfect place to do it. "This is the region of the earth that has actually experienced the greatest level of climate change over the recent past. It provides us an opportunity to witness first hand some of the things that we discuss in the classroom," says Werner.
Werner leaves tomorrow. He plans on contacting his students during his trip through video chat.
