MOSINEE (WAOW) --Talks are underway to secure an additional carrier at Central Wisconsin Airport. Right now, American and United both fly into Chicago O'Hare. Delta flies into the international hubs in Minneapolis and Detroit. The new carrier would be Republic Airlines, the successor of Midwest Airlines. The plan would call for Republic to fly routes into Milwaukee giving travelers another runway to competitively priced flights. The group behind this effort is made up of businesses and chambers of commerce in Lincoln, Marathon, Portage and Wood Counties. It's called Seeking Enhanced Air Transportation Services or SEATS II. The group's goal is to maintain competitive fares and air service schedules to CWA.
