Employees shed pounds, donate food

WAUSAU(WAOW)--It's a way to lose weight and give back to the community. Workers at Trig's grocery store use the motivation of donating food to shed some pounds. Losing weight can be tough but when the outcome benefits someone else, it makes it that much sweeter.

Several Trig's stores in Northcentral Wisconsin decided to take part in a contest they call the The Biggest Winner.

For the past few months employees tried to lose as much weight as they could. In the end the total amount of weight lost between stores would be donated to local pantries. Something that gave many a reason to try.

Angie Dreifuerst a Trig's employee says, "There was an incentive, a reason beyond just me that anything I lost was going to get donated to a food pantry and I think sometimes we need that addition incentive to get us started down the right path."

A dozen workers from the the Wausau branch participated, losing a total of 100 pounds. As an overall company, Trig's employees lost 800 pounds.
