Weekend Anchor & Multi-media Journalist
So, you've been a reporter for a while, and you've got the itch to try the anchor chair. You think you can translate your storytelling skills from the packages you put together into a cohesive weekend newscast that our viewers will be interested in watching. If you are ready for the next step in your career…and want to grow and learn as a journalist, then perhaps our weekend anchor & MJ position is just for you!
Newsline 9 is the top rated news operation in north central Wisconsin. We're looking for someone who has what it takes to keep us on the top. We'll give you the tools and training, you need to give us the desire to win!
Newsline 9 has four weekend newscasts, a Saturday 6pm& 10pm and a Sunday 5pm and 10pm. Part of your duties will be to produce and anchor those shows. You'll also be a multi-media journalist during the remaining days on your schedule. In other words, you'll need to report, produce and anchor. This is not a job for the weak!
Here's what we're looking for in our next Weekend Anchor/Multi-media Journalist:
- someone who has been a reporter for 6 months to a year or so…and wants a chance to grow in their career
- someone who loves to roll up their sleeves and produce a top notch newscast and then make it all make sense on the anchor desk
- someone who can tell stories, write, shoot & edit to produce award winning content
Here's the legal mumbo jumbo type stuff: Candidates should have a broadcast journalism degree or an equivalent. This is not a job for beginners, so if you are, please look for one of the other listings I have for available jobs. And since I'm looking for someone who can do some on-air work, a DVD with examples of your anchoring work is a definite requirement.
Please send a non-returnable DVD (or tape), cover letter and resume to:
