April Roble signs her letter of intent with Bethany Collegeby Bryon Graff
WAUSAU (WAOW) - April Roble thought she would pursue her bachelor's degree at UW-Eau Claire. Instead her UW-Marathon County volleyball career lands her a scholarship at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Roble is a DC Everest graduate who didn't play volleyball until ninth grade.
Her UWMC coach says she's the strongest middle hitter in the conference and earned junior college all-state honors in 2007.
She joins a Swedes squad that was two points away from nationals last year.
April Roble: "The whole opportunity is great. I'm very excited to be lucky and fortunate enough to be able to continue playing volleyball in my college career."
Bethany Head Coach Nathalea Stephenson: "She is a great leader, great work ethic, she works hard on the court and off the court and I think she's going to help us either in the middle position or the right side position."
Roble is studying criminal justice and plans to major in it at Bethany.
