Officials say the fire eruptednear Council Grounds State Park and the cause remained under investigation. Merrill PD: Teens in custody for car burglaries

MERRILL (WAOW) - Merrill police say three teens are in custody after reports of a string car burglaries early Friday morning. Lt. Chris Hartwig said items believed taken from at least four separate car burglaries were recovered. The items included some audio speakers, he said. Hartwig said officers responded to a 5:30 a.m. report of burglaries and apprehended two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man. Hartwig said the investigation is also looking into whether some garage burglaries occurred. More>>

BROKAW (WAOW) - The former Wausau Paper mill in Brokaw has been sold again. Niagara Worldwide LLC and its subsidiary Brokaw Development said Monday it sold the 50-acre site for an undisclosed amount. Don Jacobsmeyer, director of real estate for Niagara Worldwide, said Brokaw Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of B B Metals, a metal scrap company located near Manitowoc owned by Bob Burrows, purchased the property.
