In June 1950, Roger Schulrud of Wausau and Billy Fergot of Edgar enlisted in the United States military. They went to boot camp together and then parted ways, fighting in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Airman Daniel Haag of Boulder Junction in Vilas County served as a Mechanics Specialist in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
"We often talked and said Dad, if you weren't working on those aircraft more men would have died, the war could have been longer" Haag's daughter Wendi Neupert told Newsline 9, sitting beside the Korean War Memorial. More>>

Evelyn and Richard Bjorklund, known by their nicknames Ev and Dick, had the opportunity to re-live their experiences of World War II earlier this week thanks to a trip on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. The pair of veterans, who met after the war ended, have been married for 62 years. More>>
