WILD ROSE (WAOW) --  A Wild Rose teen is dead and another in critical condition after a car crash Thursday morning.

Colton Meyers, 17, was killed when the car he was driving slammed into the passenger side of a truck at the intersection of 15th road and Apache Drive in rural Waushara County.

Meyers' passenger, Jordan Lysaght, 17, is in critical condition at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

Investigators say Meyers failed to stop at the intersection.

He was a senior at Wild Rose High School.  The principal says he was popular and closely followed the school's football team.

Chuck Schuessler says, "Colton was a great kid. He was a fairly good student, well liked by his peers. He worked for the yearbook. We're going to sorely miss him. He was a neat kid."

Grief counselors will be on hand for students Monday morning.

The driver of the truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
