WAKE UP WISCONSIN (WAOW)-- Mmy 20 year old cousin Bill, who received a double organ transplant a month ago, has been writing thank you notes to those who helped him along the journey.  Throughout the situation, he listened to a song called, "Swim" by a Jack's Mannequin. It's a beautiful song about not giving up, when times get tough.

Bill has written a thank you note to all of you for your support:

Dear Central Wisconsin:

What does it mean to "Swim"? I have spent a great deal of time over the course of the past five months reflecting on the very word. To me, "Swim" means to fight, it means to persevere, to never gift in and push until the day that your life has been restored and you can find inner piece through normalcy.

How every, one cannot swim alone; it is merely impossible. There are days where you find yourself sinking, drowning into 9th abyss of the unknown. It is on these days that you need to reach out and find something to hold onto in an attempt to keep you afloat.

If you have received this letter, you helped me swim. At one point in the past five months, you gave me hope, you made me smile, and you helped keep me alive. You gave me the momentum that I needed to fight for another day, and reminded me of all the amazing people in my life. For this, I am forever grateful.

Thanks for the push,

Bill Coon

Bill is recovering beautifully, yesterday was 4 weeks since the heart transplant, today is 4 weeks since the kidney transplant. He's feeling so much better and it's incredible to see the complete transformation in him.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for helping me make it through the most difficult situation I've ever had to deal with. My opening up about this personal issue, I hope it's not only spread awareness about organ donation but helped you take a different look at life. I know it's completely changed me forever.

I hope to interview Bill live on Wake Up Wisconsin in either January or February.
