MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The new archbishop of Milwaukee will be installed the first Monday in January.
The Vatican named Bishop Jerome Listecki as the new archbishop of the Milwaukee diocese back in November. The 60 year old Chicago native had been the head of the LaCrosse diocese since 2005.
Listecki will be the leader of some 675,000 parishioners and 211 churches in the area. The installation Mass will be January 4th and be televised.
Every parish will be invited to send one representative and tickets will be required to attend the proceedings at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee.
