WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -- A teen collects sports equipment for kids in third world countries.
Matt Stoltz is a junior at Lincoln High School. He's asking for donations of new or gently used sporting gear that will be sent to other countries, through the National Alliance for Youth Sports and the Global Gear Drive.
He got the idea after his brother went on a mission trip and saw children playing sports without the right gear.
"I know a lot of my childhood memories were completely around sports, playing sports with my friends or my brothers." Stoltz says, "I know, I couldn't imagine being a child and not being able to play a sporting game without proper equipment."
Matt is looking for all kinds of equipment, like bats and balls, even cleats and shin guards.
The drive starts Monday, March 15th and runs until the 28th.
You can drop equipment at the YMCA in Port Edwards and Wisconsin Rapids.
