Judge: 13-year-old won't be tried in dad's death

BARABOO (AP) -- A judge has ruled that a 13-year-old boy accused of killing his father is not competent to stand trial.

Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Guy Reynolds says Thursday that aspects of the teen's autism spectrum disorder make it impossible for him to understand the proceedings. The boy is accused of killing 55-year-old Angelo "Nick" Crisafulli in January in the family's rural Delton home.

Authorities say the father was shot in the back of the head while he reclined in a chair.

The teen will now be considered for a juvenile mental health commitment.

Reynolds denied a motion from the boy's attorney to seal reports on his client's mental health, but allowed the reports to remain private for 30 days to allow an expected appeal.
