STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point is one step closer to naming a new Chancellor.
According to a news release from the university, 6 candidates from all over the nation have made the cut, including UWSP's Interim Chancellor, Dr. Mark A. Nook.
The candidates will participate public forums between March 29 and April 16 before a Regent committee interviews in late April. Once the committee recommends a candidate, that decision will need to be approved by the full Board of Regents.
UWSP has been without a permanent chancellor since Linda Bunnell stepped down in May, 2009 after a 'no confidence' vote by students.
