MERRILL (WAOW)--Merrill police are searching for a dog that bit a teen Thursday morning.
The 19-year-old was riding a bike on the east side of Memorial Drive around 11:00 AM. A dog on a retractable leash bit the victim.
The dog is described as standing about knee-high with short gold hair. The dog has the build of a pit bull but the face of a Chihuahua. It was wearing a red or orange collar with tags.
The person walking the dog was a woman between 5'4" and 5'6" with short brown wavy/spiked hair. She appeared to be in her 40's or 50's and wearing a pink shirt.
Police hope to find the dog and verify its vaccinations. If that doesn't happen, the victim will have to undergo a series of medical treatments to prevent a possible rabies infection.
If you have information, call the Merrill Police Department at (715) 536-2311.
