* AT 1032 PM CDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT A BROAD AREA WITH
RAINFALL OF OVER A HALF INCH WITH STRIPES OF RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2
INCHES HAVE BEEN OBSERVED OVER PORTIONS OF WASHBURN...SAWYER...
BAYFIELD...ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES. THUNDERSTORMS HAVE BEEN
REPEATEDLY MOVING OVER THE SAME AREAS...PRODUCING THESE AREAS OF
HIGHER RAINFALL.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE SLOWLY MOVING OUT OF THE AREA SO FAR THIS
EVENING...BUT ADDITIONAL LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL IS EXPECTED
OVERNIGHT. BY MONDAY MORNING...LOCALIZED RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS
OF 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.

MANY CREEKS...STREAMS AND RIVER ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST
WISCONSIN WILL BE HIGH...WITH PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS AND ROADSIDE
DITCHES WILL BE FILLED.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
