Tony's Tip: Venison

DORCHESTER (WAOW) -- If you have venison in your freezer, Newsline 9's Tony Schumacher has a quick and easy tip for you.

Tony: "Well good evening everyone. Hey, do you have lots of left over venison in your freezer from the fall hunt and you've eaten alot of it and you're kind of looking for something new; some fresh way to use it?

Well how about try some broccoli venison over rice. It's very simple.

What we've done here is we have some venison that's been shredded. This is actually canned venison but you can use venison roast, chopped up or venison chops. We marinated it with a couple of tablespoons of soy sauce. And we added some ginger and some brown sugar in there. and a little bit of oil and we stir fried that until it was brown.

Next, we have some broccoli. About a pound or two. diced up and stir fried with some oil again for about 20 minutes, just until its tender.

Also, we've prepared some bacon strips. This is about 4-5 strips of bacon. Stir that stir-fried broccoli right in the with meat.

Add a cup of beef gravy mix with some water and when you're making this you probably want to let that heat through for about another 4-5 minutes.

And also, you can season it to taste. Here I have some crushed red pepper.

Add a little bit of that for some spice.

And then what you want to do is have some white rice prepared or if you prefer some other type of rice that's fine too.
