James "Jim" Reinke, age 84, of Wausau died Monday, May 11, 2009 at Asprius Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1924 in Marion, WI to the late Frank and Marie (Kroll) Reinke. He graduated from Wausau High School and then from Madison & Oshkosh Business College. Jim honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He married Marjorie Lodholz on November 15, 1947 in Wausau, she preceded him in death September 3, 2007.
Jim spent his career in the glass business. He started as a sales representative for Hoffer Glass then became branch Manager for Pittsburg Plate Glass. After PPG closed, he worked for Urban Steel Buildings as a sale representative and prior to retiring he worked for Wimmer Construction as a building sales representative.
He was a lifelong resident of Wausau and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for over 70 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Wausau Elks Lodge #248 and a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10.
Jim is survived by his 2 nieces; Kristin Reinke, Fond du Lac & Gayle (David) Rodgus, West Bend, 1 nephew; Richard Lodholz, Tomahawk, brother-in-law, Donald Lodholz, Tomahawk, cousin; Robert (Tana) Nickel, Peoria, AZ and several other cousins, great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, 1 brother, Fritz Reinke and his parents.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2009 at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St. Wausau. Rev. Joel Schmalz of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Zion Luther Church Organ Fund, 709 6th St. Wausau, WI 54403.
