Joseph P. Olszewski
Age 85 of 3050 Highway C, Stevens Point Died Friday May 22, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. He was born Feb. 17, 1924 in the Town of Carson. Son of the late Adam & Martha (Lehman) Olszewski. His marriage to Lucy A. Williams took place on Oct. 14, 1944 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Millcreek. Lucy died May 19, 2005. Joseph farmed in Millcreek for many years and also was employed for the Portage County Highway Department retiring on January 9, 1987.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1170 as a 3rd degree and the St. Bartholomew Holy Name society. He enjoyed Gardening, Fishing, Hunting, Polka Music and especially spending time with his family & Friends. A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include 1 Daughter: Diane (Henry) Wiernik of Stevens Point, 2 Sons: Stan Olszewski and David (LuAnn) Olszewski both of Stevens Point. 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren & 6 Step Great Grandchildren. 2 Sisters: Clara Kujawa of Plover & Marge Olszewski of Stevens Point. 3 Brothers: Chester (Jeanette) of Menasha, Clarence (Eleanor) of Stevens Point & Greg (Antoinette) Olszewski of Stevens Point.
Preceded in death by 1 Brother Ed Olszewski, 1 Daughter in law Gloria Olszewski & 1 Brother in Law Henry Kujawa.
Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Millcreek. Rev. John Potaczek Officiating. Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and from 9:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday morning at the Church.
