WAKE UP WISCONSIN (WAOW)-- This week's winner's are the students at Hewitt-Texas Elementary School.
This year the school held it's first annual Culture Festival.
Each classroom picked a country or continent, and researched the food, music, crafts, and historical events associated with it.
The classrooms were decorated from ceiling to floor, and really made the learning experience a unique one for students.
The families of the students were invited to travel from classroom to classroom, they even had passports that the students stamped.
The faculty tells us they had an overwhelming response to the event, the classrooms were packed with people.
The students even held a concert in the gymnasium and sang different authentic music.
The school was completely transformed, and the students really made the project their own.
They learned parts of the language and participated in several cultural school activities.
We had the opportunity to visit the students and hear about their experience with the cultural fest.
They were so appreciative and enthusiastic about winning the honor, and definitely learned a lot in the process.
They're excited the festival will now be a tradition for their school.
Congratulations once again to all of the students and faculties who were recognized with the Class of the Week honor this year.
We'll start up the segment again in September.
