Opposition leader plans 3rd day of protest

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) -- Iran's opposition is announcing another day of street demonstrations to protest last week's presidential election.

The pro-reform candidate is calling the vote an "astonishing charade." He demands that it be canceled and held again.

Despite official warnings and a ban on street protests, some Web sites allied with the opposition are telling supporters to gather in a Tehran square this afternoon.

That raises the possibility of more clashes with Iran's security forces. State media reports show violence has left at least seven people dead.

Meanwhile, the country's most powerful military force is cracking down on online media coverage of the election crisis. The government has already put limits on ways foreign media can cover the demonstrations.
