MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee has several bloated contracts that make it difficult to make moves this offseason without exceeding the NBA's luxury tax threshold.
General manager John Hammond says he'd love to build on last year's 34-48 record. But he says it would be shortsighted to think about making trades focused solely on success next year.
Milwaukee holds the 10th pick in next Thursday's draft.
Hammond plans to build from within, which makes this year's first-round pick especially important after last year's selection, Joe Alexander, was not a factor in his rookie season.
