Wimmer part of ESPN2 coverage in Milwaukee

(WAOW) - Wausau native Scott Wimmer will be part of ESPN2's coverage of NASCAR this weekend in Milwaukee.

He'll be an in-race reporter from his JR Motorsports #5 Fastenal Chevy during the Nationwide Race Saturday night.

When Scott Wimmer makes the trip back to his home state this week he will be facing a very busy schedule.  Time commitments to sponsors, fans, family, friends will keep him on the go. 

Scott's weekend will kick off on Friday morning June 19th, with an autograph session at Fastenal located at 1023 Spring City Drive in Waukesha, WI.  The event will run from 10am - 2pm and will feature a power tool clearance sale, vendor demos, show car, race car simulator, and lunch.  Scott will at the store to sign autographs and take photos from 11am - 1pm.  Fans are encouraged to stop in and say Hi to Scott. 
  Later in the day on Friday, Wimmer will participate in an autograph session at The Milwaukee Mile.  The NASCAR event will take place on "Grandstand Avenue" from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.  NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers as well as Camping World Truck Series drivers will be available for autographs.
On race day Saturday June 20th, Wimmer will juggle the on-track schedule with a Fastenal Hospitality event and a fan club meet and greet.  Approximately 350 guests and fans will join Scott for a question and answer session as well as autographs.
As the sun begins to set and the fans fill the grandstand in Milwaukee, Wimmer will climb into the JR Motorsports #5 Fastenal Chevy where he will become the in-race reporter for ESPN2.  Fans can click on the following link and post a question for Scott that may be selected to be used during the ESPN2 broadcast.  http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/mailbag/_/id/16026
