MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond says he spent a few sleepless nights pondering his eventual decision to trade Richard Jefferson to San Antonio in what eventually became a three-team deal.
Hammond said Wednesday that the Jefferson deal wasn't a pure salary dump. He says taking Jefferson's remaining $29.2 million, two-year salary off the books will give the team more flexibility to make more moves.
Hammond will have a chance to replenish his roster with young talent on Thursday, when he selects 10th in the NBA draft.
