SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Richard Jefferson says being traded from Milwaukee to the San Antonio Spurs offers a chance at relevancy again.
The Spurs introduced Jefferson on Wednesday after acquiring the scoring swingman in a four-player trade. Milwaukee made the deal in a salary dump that unloads Jefferson and his $29.2 million owed over the next two seasons.
Jefferson said he enjoyed his one season in Milwaukee but is excited to be with a contender instead of a team stuck in transition or rebuilding.
San Antonio gave up Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto in the deal, getting rid of three aging bench players with expiring contracts.
