Tony's Tips: Chocolate covered strawberries

Melt in double boiler, slow cooker, or in microwave:

1 cup chocolate chips (not milk chocolate)

1 tsp. Crisco

Paraffin wax (4 passes over grater)

*Note:  Do not add water to chocolate.  Excess moisture on berries can also cause chocolate to not melt correctly, so pat berries before dipping in chocolate!

Using strawberries with long stems still attached, pat dry on paper towel. Then dip one berry into melted chocolate or use spoon or spatula to cover strawberry.  Twirl berry while coating.  Keep chocolate warm during the process.

Place chocolate covered strawberries onto wax paper until the chocolate hardens.  Refrigerate to speed the process.

Great snack or dessert on a picnic!
