VILAS CO. (WAOW)-- A man wanted for murder in Illinois has been extradited from Wisconsin.
Thomas McFeggan appeared in Vilas County court Thursday afternoon. He was arrested Wednesday in Boulder Junction.
Illinois police had been looking for him since Monday, when his wife was found shot to death in their home. Police tracked the McFeggan, 65, to Trout Lake Campground.
He had a campsite registered under his name, but wasn't there.
Investigators found him a short-time later nearby.
Vilas County Sheriff John Niebuht said, "It is a big area. There's a lot of campgrounds, a lot of lakes and you have to look."
Those who live in the Rockford neighborhood near the McFeggan's say this comes as a complete surprise.
They say they don't know how this could happen.
