Guido Aspeitia takes over as new Chucks Field Manager

WAUSAU (WAOW)-  The Woodchucks now have a new head coach as Guido Aspeitia takes over for the fired Brandon Steele as the team's new field manager.

The organization felt that Steele wasn't taking the team in the right direction, and the Chucks are confident that Aspeitia can turn things around.

The new head man has plenty of coaching experience with Cal State Fullerton as an assistant and then with Northern Ohio as a head coach.  Aspeitia says he's really excited to take over.

Says Guido Aspeitia, "Obviously it's very exciting and the trust goes both ways, I wouldn't have signed on with these people if I didn't trust the organization. I think this organization is one of the best if not the best in the league, and that's not to knock the other teams. My goal is to spend a number of years here, just like I did at Northern Ohio and Cal State Fullerton before that. That's what I wanna build here, a foundation where we're expected to compete for a championship every season."

Says GM Ryan Treu, "He has a lot of experience working with college players, he has a lot of contacts on the west coast that is really gonna help us in the future. Not really the small ball game but he might have to do that with the team he's got this year, but I just know he's about doing things the right way."
