Divers suspend Hudson search in treacherous waters
HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) -- A New York City Police Department spokesman says divers think they found pieces of a private plane's wreckage in the Hudson River before they had to pull out because of treacherous conditions.
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne says divers went into the water Monday morning but have stopped the search because of strong currents and zero visibility. They hope to resume the search later Monday afternoon.
Browne says the divers believe they found pieces of the plane in a spot just south of Saturday's air collision between the small plane and a tourist helicopter. Nine people were killed.
Browne says two of the bodies recovered from the helicopter's wreckage weren't found until the wreckage was removed from the water on Sunday.
