HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) -- Divers are expected to resume their search today for the ninth victim of last weekend's mid-air collision near Manhattan.

Authorities say they found the body of the eighth victim yesterday in the wreckage of a crashed plane in New York's Hudson River, but were unable to remove it. Police have been consulting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers about pulling the plane to the surface.

Investigators continue to look into why the small plane and a sightseeing helicopter collided in the busy skies near Manhattan. The small Piper had three family members aboard when it hit the helicopter, carrying a pilot and five Italian tourists. All nine people died when both aircraft plunged into the river.

Police divers report the single-engine Piper is in about 60 feet of water in the middle of the river, on its side with no wings visible.
