WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin State Fair officials say attendance was down slightly this year, but they are happy with the results.
Fair spokeswoman Patrice Harris says about 833,000 people visited the fair this year. That's down about 4.5 percent over last year. But she says last year's attendance was the highest they've had in years.
She attributed the drop to lousy weather on opening weekend, with two days of downpours and one day of severe weather.
