Wis. gunman convicted in previous violent attacks

MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) -- A man accused of killing three brothers at a party in Menomonie before fatally shooting himself had been convicted of two previous violent attacks.

Police say Geu Tou Vang of St. Paul, Minnesota killed Siong, Toua and Seng Kong Saturday night during a party at Evergreen Isle trailer park. Vang then shot himself after wounding a fourth person.

Authorities say Vang was a member of the Hmong gang Purple Brothers. He had been ordered to stay away from alcohol and undergo anger management treatment for beating a rival gang member with a metal pipe at a wedding in 2004. He was also convicted of assault in 2001 after helping four others attack a 15-year-old boy in a Minneapolis park.
