Wisconsin ACT scores hold steady for third year

MADISON (AP) -- Wisconsin students' average ACT scores are holding steady for a third straight year.

The average composite score for state students who graduated this spring was 22.3 out of 36, the same mark as the previous two years.

Minnesota students scored an average of 22.7. Iowa students scored 22.4 while Illinois students scored 20.8. Michigan students scored 19.6.

The results were released Wednesday by the independent, nonprofit ACT. Colleges and universities nationwide use the scores to help determine admissions, scholarships and academic advising.
