WASHINGTON (PRESS RELEASE) - U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke today announced a $1.28 million Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant to Langlade County and the North Central Wisconsin Technical College of Antigo, Wis., to help build the Wood Technology Center of Excellence. The project is expected to create 430 jobs and generate $14 million in private investment, according to grantee estimates.

"The Obama Administration is committed to creating jobs, encouraging innovation and improving our nation's economic competitiveness," Locke said. "This grant will create new jobs and boost private investment in the region by building a world-class training center that will provide training and knowledge to workers in Wisconsin's vital wood products manufacturing sector."
