Bielema denies report that the starting QB job is now between Phillips and Tolzien
By Russ Owens
MADISON (WAOW)- There are reports from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Wisconsin Head Coach Bret Bielema confirmed that redshirt freshman Curt Phillips and redshirt junior Scott Tolzien had separated themselves from the other quarterbacks for the starting job.
Bielema though denied that report on Saturday after a scrimmage that the race was down to just Tolzien and Phillips. The head man said before that it could be fifth-year senior Dustin Sherer's job to lose.
Either way, Wisconsin says it plans to name a starter by next Wednesday.
