Packer offense is clicking on all cylinders

By Russ Owens

GREEN BAY (WAOW)-  The Packers averaged just over 26 points per game a year ago, but so far this preseason the first teamers have been scoring at will including 31 points in the first half alone against Arizona.

Says Wide Receiver Jordy Nelson, "I think we've been clicking good, we have a good foundation to start the season and worry about what we need to do, and make sure it carries over into the regular season."

Says Tight End Jermichael Finley, "Man, it's been clicking great, we've been loving it, getting the routine down, getting everything down pat and hopefully we can carry that when the regular season kicks off."

Says Nelson, "We have a lot of confidence in what we can do as a receiving corps and we have a lot of confidence in Aaron and he has a lot of confidence in us, so we just wanna go out and make plays, do what we're supposed to do, run routes the way we know how to run them and we think if we do that and be fundmentally sound, we'll get open."

QB Aaron Rodgers has certainly produced, he has a near perfect QB rating of 151.1 so far this preseason.

Says Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, "I think when we play Chicago it will be a good test for us to see where we're really at, but this preseason has been really good."

Says Finley, "With Arod, we got a great quarterback behind us, we got great chemistry going right and we gotta keep it up till the regular season and get this thing rolling."

Says Nelson, "Hopefully we can continue to help him out and continue to make plays."

And the O-line has improved as well getting Rodgers a lot more time to throw the football.

Says Left Guard Daryn Colledge, "We know if we keep him upright we have something special back there and he's done a great job, he's picked up a lot of the hot routes, he's throwing some quick balls and he's been a little evasive so he's made us look a little better than we are right away but we're improving."

Says Rodgers, "I think the protection has been good, the declaration has been good, the communication has been good has led to me really getting touched only two or three times this preseason."

And that defense has certainly helped as well forcing 13 turnovers in the first three games.
