No more charges for swimmer shooter

WISCONSIN (AP) - The only survivor of a Michigan man's shooting rampage that killed three people and wounded another says the shooter will not face federal charges.

Daniel Gordon says FBI investigators met with him and the families of the three victims last month and was told they won't pursue further charges against Scott Johnson.  Johnson opened fire on the group swimming in the Menominee River along the Wisconsin-Michigan border on July 31, 2009.  He was sentenced in May to life in a Wisconsin prison without parole.

Gordon and others say they're angry Johnson won't have to face the death penalty since neither Wisconsin or Michigan have it.  Calls to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Michigan weren't returned Saturday but authorities plan to put out a statement next week.
